    Grisanti told the Buffalo News he walked over and tried to make peace.

    "Guys, guys, guys, this was a great event. You guys are here with dates, and let's not start a scene," Grisanti recalled in an interview with the newspaper.

    Grisanti said one of the men asked who he was, so he identified himself as a state senator.

    Then, he said the man yelled at him, "You haven't done [expletive] for the Senecas," then punched him in the ribs and the back of the head.

    When Maria Grisanti rushed to his aid, two women apparently tackled her and began pulling her hair and slamming her head against the floor.

    "All I remember is one of them grabbed me by the hair and slammed me [to the floor]. I thought I was done," Maria Grisanti told the newspaper.

    "I don't know how many times [they] slammed my head against the floor," she added. "That woman was relentless. I don't know what she was trying to do to me."

    After security officers pulled Grisanti away from the two men, he and some family members managed to pull the two women off his wife.
