Downtown Carriage Tours, in Harbor Springs will run from 2-6 p.m. on Fridays and Sundays. The “take-off” and “meeting” zone is on Bay Street near The Pier, The New York and the Bar Harbor, with other stops at the loading zones near the Island Bean; the Woolly Bugger; and the Main and Gardner Streets loading zone by Turkey’s and Spice Harbor. The carriage will depart from the Bay Street location every 30 minutes.

Harbor History Talk, “Mackinac in the War of 1812”, will be Thursday, March 15 at 7 p.m.. As activities begin to mark the bicentennial of the War of 1812, the Harbor Springs Area Historical Society is pleased to welcome guest speaker Phil Porter to the Harbor Springs History Museum, 349 E Main Street. Porter is the director of the Mackinac State Historic Parks. Mackinac Island was the site of two significant military engagements during the War of 1812, including one of the first land actions. Porter will detail the dramatic events surrounding these battles and their significant impact on this international conflict. Admission is $3 per person and free for HSAHS members.
