Claire Smith was shocked after winning two competitions in two days when she entered STV’s Watch to Win..
The 28-year-old mother of two couldn’t believe she had snagged a £1000 prize only 24 hours after securing two tickets to a local football match for her partner.
Claire said: “I was sitting watching TV and just thought I would give it a shot – somebody’s got to win.
“When I got the phone call, I think I said ‘no way is it me’ about 20 times.
“I am not really a lucky person – I do alright when I go to the bingo. I was shocked to win.”
Her triumphant phone call to her partner Graeme Gregson was met with disbelief.
She said: “My partner didn’t believe me. It was really weird because in the paper, the Evening News, there as a competition to win football tickets to the local derby.
“I entered it for him and he won the tickets on Thursday, then on Friday I found out I had won STV’s Watch to Win. It was a great coincidence. I told him ‘you go to the football – I’ll have £1000’.
