'How I Met Your Mother' episode recap: 'Karma'
The episode begins with Ted narrating to his kids that “2012 started off kind of crazy. Barney met a girl named Quinn, Kevin un-proposed to Robin, I told Robin ‘I love you,’ and when I asked her if she loved me back she said, ‘No.’ Marshall told Robin to move out and Robin did.
Shoot to Ted going into Robin’s room and finding it empty.
Shoot to Ted and Barney at the strip club as Ted is telling Barney how he can’t even walk into Robin’s room. “Why do I have to be so sensitive?” he asks Barney. Barney replies, “I don’t know bro. Look at me and this Quinn chick. You don’t hear me prattling on about how beautiful her smile is or how her hair is like a waterfall of honey-colored silk or how her eyes are like the warm South Sea kissed by the fire and gold of sunrise. I don’t even remember what she looks like.” Ted then comments on how Barney likes Quinn to which Barney asks him, “How did I become this gooey romantic?” Ted tells him that he thinks its “healthy that you have real feelings for a woman rather than seeing her as just an object.” Barney then snaps his fingers and a stripper comes over. Ted then asks Barney why he likes Quinn since he spent a whole night talking to her and she was basically rude to him the whole night. “We connected. Emotionally, intellectually, spiritually,” replies Barney. “So, basically mind-blowing sex,” Ted retorts. “Mind-blowing sex!” Barney repeats. Ted tells him to call her and Barney says he would if he knew how to get in touch with her, that it’s driving him crazy and that everywhere he looks he sees her. “Crossing the street, shopping in the store, I see her dancing on that pole.” Ted then says that he sees her too. Barney is shocked to see Quinn dancing on the stripper pole as the announcer calls her “Karma.”
