    Town Happenings

    A Mardi Gras Party, will be held at the Harbor Springs Ice Rink on Saturday, March 3 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kiwanis Park in Harbor Springs. The event is free. Activities will include free pizza, drinks and dessert, games, crafts, prizes and sledding. The games will include King Relay Race, Pinata, Bead Game Doubloon Toss, and Mask Hunt. Crafts will include cardboard box castle, jester on a stick, tragedy and comedy garland.

    Harbor History Talk, “Mackinac in the War of 1812”, will be Thursday, March 15 at 7 p.m.. As activities begin to mark the bicentennial of the War of 1812, the Harbor Springs Area Historical Society is pleased to welcome guest speaker Phil Porter to the Harbor Springs History Museum, 349 E Main Street. Porter is the director of the Mackinac State Historic Parks. Mackinac Island was the site of two significant military engagements during the War of 1812, including one of the first land actions. Porter will detail the dramatic events surrounding these battles and their significant impact on this international conflict. Admission is $3 per person and free for HSAHS members.
