K-Pop Star "RAIN" to be Served Fraud Lawsuit Summons by Korean Military
LOS ANGELES, Mar 08, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- In response to media inquiries, the following is an update on developments in the civil and criminal complaints against Jeong Ji-Hoon, aka RAIN, the international entertainer and film actor who starred in films such as Speed Racer and Ninja Assassin.
Both the civil case, Andrew Kim vs. Jeong Ji-Hoon, and the related criminal case involve allegations that the star was involved in heavy gambling in Las Vegas, which RAIN denies.
However, as a part of the criminal defamation complaint brought by Mr. Kim against RAIN, a gambling log obtained from Las Vegas casinos has been filed with the Seoul Prosecutors Office indicates that RAIN bet approximately USD 175,500 (KRW 165,000,000) in card games such as Black Jack and Baccarat over two days, from June 23 to 24, 2007, and lost an estimated USD 17,100 (KRW 16,000,000).
